Tickets to the Gold Coast’s most delectable event, the Sanctuary Cove Food & Wine Festival, have officially launched, revealing nine days of nonstop food, drink, and entertainment. From July 17 – 25, 2021, the mouth-watering journey will return to the Coast with added zest offering guests a different culinary experience to try every day. From local favourites like Ioesco Café Cucina to new Destino Wine and Cocktail Bar, guests can anticipate tantalising Mediterranean flavours, four-course wine experiences, live music and a whisky degustation known to set fire in bellies. Headlining the festival bonanza is Beats & Bites, Sunsets, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort's Craggy Range Wine Dinner in the Grange, The Fireplace Whisky five-course dinner with world-class tipples to match and much more!
Mulpha Events General Manager, Johan Hasser says this year’s gourmet festival will surprise and delight guests with its locally grown culinary and artisan talent. “The renowned Sanctuary Cove Food & Wine Festival is an opportunity for us to celebrate the local restauranteurs and producers through a variety of premium food and wine events that showcase the best of Sanctuary Cove,” Mr Hasser said. “With the calibre of talent on offer this year, we are looking forward to welcoming back old friends and introducing new ones to the highly anticipated and unmatched experience at Sanctuary Cove.”
17th July: To launch the festivities, guests can let their hair down at the Beats & Bites event, serving up the first sip of the newly QLD launched, Freshwater Gin through an exclusive event cocktail. For those a little more traditional, Bimbadgen wine or Stone & Wood beers will also be at the ready. Featuring a DJ, a stunning superyacht backdrop, a host of outdoor games and curated bites by InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort’s Head Chef, the official launch party will be sure to set the tone for the rest of the festival.
18th July: InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort will continue the celebrations with Craggy Range in the Grange on July 18, an evening with highly awarded wine from the one of the top 20 of the world’s best premium vineyards, Craggy Range. Led by Craggy Range winery Director, Mary-Jeanne Hutchinson, the four-course dinner will guide guests through a perfectly matched variety of wines from the stunning vineyard.
From 20th July: Step inside the Levantine Hill Cellar Door at the Gold Coast’s favourite Italian restaurant, Ioesco Café Cucina. Guests will be treated to a tastebud tour through a gastronomically matched menu with Levantine Hill Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Rubeus designed by Ioesco’s very own head chef, Max Alfieri. With just six loesco Levantine Hill Wine Tasting tours available throughout the festival, wine and food lovers are encouraged to get in quick!
21 July: In just one night, Destino Wine and Cocktail Bar will take guests to the Mediterranean by targeting all the senses of the Italian, French, Greek, and Spanish coastlines. Be greeted with a glass of Tiva Dei Frati Prosecco, sit back on the Mykonos inspired deck, and let wine merchant, Samuel Smith & Son introduce you to the wines that elevate the tastes of these locations.
22 & 23 July: Enjoy a glimpse into Dragon Cove’s Winter treasures, a banquet designed with royalty in mind. Prepared using a fusion of modern and traditional Chinese cooking techniques, the menu features a combination of Italian Truffle, French Foie Gras and fresh local ingredients that come together with an explosive flavour sensation.
23 July: Whisky lovers can delight with an intimate five-course whisky infused degustation dinner, housed in Sanctuary Cove’s esteemed The Fireplace Restaurant. Guided by whisky ambassador James Buntin, dishes will feature infusions of selections of Glenfiddich’s 12-year, 15-year and 18-year varieties, as well as Balvenie’s 12- year, 14-year and 17-year collections.
24 & 25 July: Headlining the final weekend of the 2021 Sanctuary Cove Food & Wine Festival is the muchloved Sunsets event. Leading wineries, renowned craft beer brewers and a gourmet street style food menu from InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort will all come together to serve up a Sanctuary Cove spectacular that can be enjoyed with live music on the lawn as the sun sets.
25 July: Combine rosé, hand crafted macarons, sandwiches and gelato at Sanctuary Cove’s newest and prettiest locale, Rosé Gelateria, on Sunday 25 July. The charming afternoon ambience will be filled with live music and will offer two separate sessions to book into. Dubbed the perfect week for wine and food novices and experts alike, visitors will have the chance to truly immerse themselves in the varieties that have made Sanctuary Cove famous, as well as some experimental wines and gins appearing for the very first time exclusive to the festival.
